The SFO air traffic datasets include passenger counts, cargo weight, and aircraft landing counts and landed weight at the airport. Data is updated quarterly, and in addition to the CSV format, there are sample Excel spreadsheets pre-populated with the data and with several pivot tables created as an example of how the data can be used. Data analysis tips are included on the dataset webpage.
This passenger data set contains data pertaining to customer demographics and satisfaction with Airport facilities, services, and initiatives. The data was collected in May 2009 through interviews with 1,400 customers in each of SFO’s terminals and boarding areas. Samples sizes per terminal, boarding area, airline, and time of day were weighted to reflect actual customer traffic disbursement. Customers were asked to rate the Airport in 25 categories, including 7 cleanliness ratings. Additional data collected include customer spending behavior, mode of arrival to the Airport, awareness of SFO initiatives, and many other categories.

The campaign finance database is the San Francisco Ethics Commission's repository for campaign finance filings. It can answer questions about who is contributing money, who is receiving money, and how it is being spent. Use the campaign finance database to research campaign contributions and expenditures reported on forms provided by the Fair Political Practices Commission. The database provides live access to the Ethics Commission's records. Filings are accessible once processed/posted by the Ethics Commission. Transactions reported on the forms are available in electronic data format. Transactions are posted to the web site immediately after the filing is processed and are accessible by web search or exporting the transactions in Excel format. The following datasets in Excel format can be obtained: - Transactions grouped by selected measure - Transactions grouped by selected candidate - Transactions grouped by selected committee - Transactions grouped by selected calendar year All datasets are updated immediately after processing by the Ethics Commission with the exception of annual transaction exports which represent an export of all transactions in the database as of the previous calendar day. Filers submit data to the Ethics Commission in the Secretary of State's CAL format. The CAL format is a comma delimited text file format designed to complete various FPPC forms. CAL files are then processed into Excel files and made available on the Ethics Commission's campaign finance database. The Ethics Commission currently accepts forms 460, 461, 465, 496 and 497 in CAL format. More information about the Secretary of State's CAL format can be found here : http://www.sos.ca.gov/prd/release_letter.htm .

Planning Department Projects, Entitlements, Cases This dataset includes all cases reviewed by the Planning Department. Many cases are related to Building Permits. A Building Permit may produce a number of cases with the Planning Department, for example a single Building Permit may require a Transportation Study case and an Environmental Review case. Some cases are not related to Building Permits, e.g Variances or Conditional Use Authorizations. The type of case can be seen in the CaseType_Desc field. Additional information can be found in the dataset's metadata (the .xml file within the .zip). It is important to note that older cases (prior to 1 January 1999) were not consistently recorded in this database. Should you wish to analyze trends within this data it is advisable to remove these older cases (those where the entry in the 'FileDate' field is older than 1 Jan, 1999). This dataset is in a GIS Shapefile format. This format can be read and mapped by most Geographical Information Systems. The .DBF file can be loaded into MS Access, Excel or other database/spreadsheet programs.

Fire Calls-For-Service includes all fire units responses to calls. Each record includes the call number, incident number, address, unit identifier, call type, and disposition. All relevant time intervals are also included. Because this dataset is based on responses, and since most calls involved multiple units, there are multiple records for each call number. Addresses are associated with a block number, not a specific address.
This data-set provides a list of all valid (current) permits issued by the Fire Department. The data-set includes the permit address, the type of permit, the permit holder, the conditions issued for approval (including maximum occupancy) and the expiration date if the permit is for a particular event.
Fire Incidents includes a summary of each (non-medical) incident to which the SFFD responded. Each incident record includes the call number, incident number, address, number and type of each unit responding, call type (as determined by dispatch), prime situation (field observation), actions taken, and property loss. Addresses are associated with a block number, not with a specific address.
Operating and Maintenance Petitions. When the annual allowable increase does not completely cover the landlord's yearly increase in operating and maintenance expenses for a property, a landlord may petition for an additional base rent increase of up to 7%. This is known as an Operating and Maintenance or O&M increase
Capital Improvement Passthrough Petitions. A landlord may petition the Rent Board to pass through to tenants the costs of certain renovations to the property, which are considered capital improvements. A capital improvement is one that materially adds to the value of the property, appreciably prolongs its useful life, or adapts it to new uses, and which may be amortized over the useful life of the improvement of the building.

This demo describes about alternative fuel usage in the United States in 2005, including the number of fuel stations of each state of different types of fuels, in comparison with other state level data released by government agencies, such as population, total stack air emission, etc..
State Level Comparison :
Choose from below to compare alternative fuel infrastructure in different states, population, air quality and total housing :
For the state level comparison, by selecting different types of fuels, we could see that different states have their own "preferences" on alternative fuels. For example, Minnesota is the leading state in the number of states for E85, North Carolina leads the BD, while California leads in CNG, ELEC, H2, and LNG. Texas leads in the number of LPG and gasoline stations.
We convert the raw data about alternative fuel infrastructure to RDF, and load them into a triple store
Some of the US data is at state level, so that we can query along with other state-level data existing in the triple store, including population, household, air condition, etc.
The query results are directly consumed by Google visualization APIs, e.g. GeoMap for state-level data comparison.
The following parallel coordinate system shows the number of United States military service members in 2009 with and without children, broken down by their pay grade and whether the service member is single or married. Each blue line depicts a group of military members who share the same pay grade. Unfortunately, the lines cannot be selected to provide identification of the demographic depicted, nor can they be highlighted to facilitate reading a single line through all coordinates . The potential benefit of this feature is clear when observing the crowded group at the bottom of this parallel coordinate system. Another issue is that http://code.google.com/p/parallel-coordinates/ cannot render more than one parallel coordinate system on a single page, so this is an image. Being able to color the lines differently would allow us to distinguish between the classes of pay grade (enlisted, officer, warrant officer), but, unfortunately, only one color is permitted. Control for ordering within the Pay Grade coordinate is also not provided, so O-10 is (lexicographically) between O-1 and O-2.
